Pat Fairhead Print Biography

Born in Hull, Yorkshire, Pat Fairhead moved to Toronto at the age of 11. She attended the Ontario College of Arts and received a M.Ed. in 1972 from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (adult education) and a M.A. from Goddard College in Vermont (self-directed learning) in 1978. She gave up her work in continuing education in 1979 in order to paint full-time. Her large, urgent watercolours of landscapes and garden scenes are full of passion, colour and energy. Her work has been included in exhibitions across Canada and in Tokyo, England and the USA. Pat Fairhead is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (1950), the Arts & Letters Club (1985), the Ontario Society of Artists (1986) and The Royal Canadian Academy (1993). Pat Fairhead is a keen adventurer and canoeist and has worked on television programs with TVO. She lives and works in Toronto and the Georgian Bay area.
